Q. What is Windows and Me? Ans. Windows and Me, is a Microsoft initiative to help Windows users make the most of the Windows in their PC every day. The site has been designed keeping in mind the PC usage and behavior pattern of Indian consumers. It’s your space to explore, discover, share the magical World of Windows and learn how to do more with your PC! As a member of Windows and Me, you will be informed about the trendiest new features and innovations in the world of Windows. All this while you share your experiences, voice your opinion & learn from other Windows users to get more out of your PC experience. What’s more, our panel of Gurus will address the concerns and questions that you would have with getting the most out of your Windows based PC.
Q. How do I register on Windows and Me? Ans. By simply clicking on the sign up link you can create a windows live id, with which you can easily log in to Windows and Me. So if you already have a registered Live ID you will be able to use the same to log on to Windows and Me.
Q. How can I log in using my existing e-mail, in case I don’t have a Live ID? Ans. You will need to sign up in order to use your existing e-mail ID as a Windows Live ID. All you need to do is click on ‘Sign Up’ on the Windows and Me home page. You will be asked whether you have an e-mail address. Select ‘Yes ‘as the option. Fill up the ‘Create Credentials’ page and continue with the registration process. This process enables you to make your existing mail ID your Live ID.
Q. Is there any membership fee to join? Ans. No, the site is completely free of cost. Anyone can join Windows and Me.
Q. How do I edit my profile details? Ans. To edit your profile details, you will first need to log in to your account. Then, just click on the ‘Manage Profile’ bar below your login details on the right hand side panel. The link will take you to the Profile details page where you can edit your profile details. Once the changes have been made, just click on ‘Submit’
Q. How do I change my profile photo? Ans. You will need to click on ‘Manage Profile’. Scroll down to the ‘Upload Picture’ section. Click on ‘Browse ‘and select the picture that you want to upload. Click on ‘Submit ‘and the new profile picture will be uploaded.
Q. What is the difference between being a Pal, Whiz, Guru and Super Guru? Ans. As soon as you sign up at Windows and Me, you are automatically registered as a ‘Pal’. You can go from being a Pal to a Whiz, then a Guru and finally, a Super Guru on the basis of your interaction with fellow members at Windows and Me. Once our team evaluates your eligibility, you will receive an invite to join Windows and Me as a Pal, Whiz, Guru or Super Guru.
Q. Who is a Guru and how can he/ she help me use Windows better? Ans. Our panel of Gurus consists of Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals (MVP) and select set of people who are subject matter experts on Windows. Be it any query, just ask a Guru through Guru Speak and find all your answers.
Q. How can I become a Guru at Windows and Me? Ans. You can become eligible to be a Guru by being a regular pro-active member and helping other members discover the magic of Windows. Your eligibility will depend on your interaction and engagement with other members through buddy zone responses, referrals, etc. Once eligible you would automatically receive an invite to join as a Guru at Windows and Me.
Q. How do I subscribe to the Windows and Me newsletter? Ans. All you have to do is click on the banner mentioning newsletter subscription on the homepage. Or you can simply click on ‘Manage Profile’. The Personal details section will appear showing a checkbox against the option of ‘Subscribe to newsletter’. Just click on the checkbox. Once a tick appears on the checkbox, click on ‘Submit’.
Q. How do I unsubscribe to the newsletter? Ans. Click on ‘Manage Profile’. The Personal details section has a checkbox against the option of ‘Unsubscribe to newsletter’. Just click on the checkbox and the existing tick will disappear. Then click on ‘Submit’.
Q. Can I register on Windows and Me even though I stay outside India? Ans. Yes, Windows and Me is open to visitors across the World. The site has been designed keeping in mind the PC usage and behavior patterns of Indian consumers. It currently features content based on the feedback we collect from consumers & retailers across India. So, although the content is relevant for users from across the world, it might reflect a higher orientation & relevance for Indian consumers
